Emotional moment grandpa tears up when he hears song he wrote from 1980’s
This is the emotional moment a grandpa tears up after hearing the song he wrote from the 1980’s.
Doting granddaughter, Karli Willett, who is an aspiring singer, recorded her grandpa’s song after finding the lyrics from the song her grandpa, Mike Brook, 69, used to sing to her mum, Chera Willett, as a child.
Mike dreamt of joining the army when he was 21 but due to football injuries and loss of hearing in one ear, he was unable to serve his country.
After hearing about one man’s journey in Vietnam, Mike wrote a song which he would often sing to his children.
Mike can be seen bursting into tears in the video, which was filmed on Christmas Eve, December 24.
Karli’s mum, Chera, 43. said: “To us, it is a childhood memory of my dad putting his heart into the lyrics of a song and crying as he sang it. A special memory growing up.
“My daughter being a singer and songwriter, I immediately had the idea to finish the song and record it as a surprise for Christmas for my dad. it was a precious moment
“She loves her grandad which she calls ‘paw paw’ so much.
“Karli wanted to give him something that he would treasure. Something that he never got the chance to do.
“He broke down in tears when he heard the song; happy, proud tears! It was just the sweetest moment. A moment that took us all back and a moment that we will never forget!”
