Student super slimmer has one stone of saggy skin removed to go from granny to bikini body after losing more than half her bodyweight
Student super slimmer student has one stone of saggy skin removed to go from granny to bikini body after losing more than half her bodyweight.
Jennifer Ognenovski, 23, from Sydney, Australia, felt like she was trapped with the body of an 80-year-old until surgery to remove excess skin.
She lost a whopping 14 stone (88kg) following a gastric sleeve two-years-ago to combat years of excess eating that stemmed from childhood.
The law student decided to go under the knife for weight loss surgery after fearing she wouldn’t be able to walk or may not even be alive for her graduation.
But after her rapid weight loss, she was left with over a stone (6.4kg) of skin hanging from all over her body that looked ‘crinkled paper’ and a ‘melted candle.’
Last year she had surgery from Destination Beauty to remove all her loose skin and give her implants to transform her ‘saggy A-cups’ to a 32DD – finally allowing her to feel confident in her skin.
Now at a healthy 11 stone (70kg), she’s set to graduate with the body of her dreams later this year, has a boyfriend and even former bullies are congratulating her on the remarkable transformation.
Jennifer, who also works a customer relations officer, said: “I felt like I was an 80-year-old woman stuck in a 22-year-old’s body. I needed the skin removal surgery as the skin was affecting my everyday life.
“The excess skin looked just like crinkled paper, scrunched up clothing and a melted candle.
“I couldn’t buy clothing in my size as I had so much skin that I would need to alter the sizing and buy things that were too big for my frame to accommodate for the loose skin.
“I lost 90kg, and yet, something I always dreamed of, like wearing a sleeveless top was still a dream and it was so disheartening. Not to mention the skin rashes it caused.
“I had over 1.3kg of skin removed from my arms, 3.5kg removed circumferentially from my abdomen and lower back, 1.2kg removed from my thighs and 400g removed from my breasts.
“After that I developed a little thing called confidence, something I had never had or experienced before.
“I was happy to wear things that I always dreamed of, despite the new scars that came with having the surgeries.
“I was so proud of those scars, as they simply told a story of how I fought the obesity disease and came out stronger on the other end.
“I finally feel how I was always meant to feel. There are days where I can’t comprehend or even begin to think of feeling any different to how I feel now.
“I feel lighter. I am able to exercise, and lift the heavy weights like I always wanted, without being restricted by the loose skin.”
Jennifer believes her weight gain stemmed from childhood, when she would feel it necessary to finish her plate of food out of politeness and overlook when she was full.
This would see her bulge to a hefty 25 stone (158kg) giving her a shocking BMI reading of 63.7 – putting her into the highest and most dangerous level of obesity.
She said: “I was brought up in a family where our family gatherings were centred around food.
“I was always taught from a young age that it was rude to leave food behind.
“I misinterpreted this and would always fill my plate to the absolute brim and would go back for seconds.
“From then, I just loved food, and it always seemed that it was never enough and I was never completely satisfied.”
At 21-years-old, Jennifer was horrified upon realising her weight and realised the extent of her eating problems.
Knowing of the health implications caused by severe obesity, she was concerned that all the hard she was ploughing into getting her law degree would all be for nothing.
Jennifer said: “I was more than half way through my law degree and the thought of completing it but becoming too heavy to even live or walk made me question why I was wasting my time if I wouldn’t be alive in the next five years.
“On both sides of my family, my grandparents have diabetes. I wanted to break the cycle and change for the better.”
After undergoing gastric sleeve surgery, watching her food intake and focusing on protein alongside exercising five times a week, Jennifer was able to lose more than half her bodyweight.
But she was plagued by the loose skin hanging from her body that made her feel older than her age and led her to decide that surgery was her only option.
Jennifer flew to Destination Beauty in Bangkok, Thailand for a month to have £15,000 (27kAUD) worth of surgery to change her life.
She had an extended tummy tuck, breast lift and augmentation as well as arm, thigh, flank and mon pubis lift to remove over a stone of excess skin.
Jennifer said: “I still have people who on a daily can’t believe that it is me.
“I get people tell me how amazing I look, however again, it is still a mental game and it is very difficult to train your mind to see what others see.
“I have a lot of people tell me that I have inspired them to make a change in their own lives, and that to me is everything I could’ve asked for and more.
“The reason I was successful in my opinion was that I used the surgery as a tool. I exercised five times a week, focused on eating protein and eating regularly and being kind to my body.
“The sleeve didn’t lose the weight for me, the countless hours in the gym and meal prepping did.
“I have dropped in the last year to 18% body fat, where initially I had over 55% body fat.”
Now Jennifer is finishing her final semester of law school and can’t wait to graduate, having completely changed her life.
She said: “I had people who bullied me during high school and I would hear laugh and make snide comments, congratulate me on my achievements.
“I never had a boyfriend before, despite people always saying that confidence attracts an individual.
“I did date occasionally, but it always came down to me being too fat for anything to progress further.
“I do, for the first time, have a boyfriend, who I truly believe loves me for me.
“But I feel if I were bigger, my own self confidence would have gotten in the way, and I would never have met someone like him.”
Jennifer went to Destination Beauty in Thailand – Plastic Surgery and Weight Loss Surgery Centre.
They are delighted by her incredible transformation and how she was able to turn her life around.
Martin Olsen, 45, CEO at Destination Beauty, said: “We find the whole journey inspiring, a nearly 100kgs weight loss, then left with lots of sagging skin Jennifer is brave enough to undergo massive plastic surgery to look like a young girl again.
“It helped her to be a confident young beautiful woman.
“I think it’s so important that Jennifer via her Instagram account manages to inspire many other women and men on how to turn their life around.”
